Sinus Infection? Check Out These Home Remedies
Instead of turning to over the counter medications, you might be relieved to know that there are some simple home remedies for sinus infections. In fact, in some cases, you need not look further than your kitchen.
When dealing with sinus issues, one of the best things you can do is make yourself an herbal tea. A few suggestions are Echinacea, astragalus, Oregon grape root, or a lemon balm. Astragalus is safe for children and grape root will kill of a variety of types of bacteria. Depending on your taste buds, you might prefer to take these herbs individually, but you can feel free to experiment and mix them together. It’s also important for you to stay hydrated, so make sure you take in lots of liquid like water or orange juice.
When boiling hot water for your tea, boil some extra and then inhale the steam. Make a little tent over your head with a towel to keep the steam in. Better yet, if you have a vaporizer, us it. You can also add eucalyptus or tea tree oil in the water as they will aid in opening up your air passages.
These oils will also help should you experience pain in your ears along with your sinus infection. At least three times a day, put a few drops of the following mixture in your ears: two tablespoons of a carrier oil such as pure almond oil, plus five drops each of Lavender Essential Oil, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Pine Essential Oil and Eucalyptus Essential Oil added to warm water.
For facial pain, a warm compress works great. Add a drop of Eucalyptus, Pine and Tea Tree Oils to warm water, then soak a cloth in it and apply to your face.

teaming water and inhale three times a day.
No garlic in the house? Then you might want to try apple cider vinegar if you have any. If you mix two teaspoons into a glass of warm water and drink three times a day, it will help to decrease the amount of mucus your body is producing.
These are just a few home remedies for sinus infection, but remember, depending on how bad your condition is, you might want to make an appointment with your doctor and see if you need something stronger to deal with your infection.
