Portland is located on both the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. It is the third largest city in the Pacific Northwest and the twenty third largest in the United States Portland is broken up into five different zones or neighborhoods and each has its own atmosphere and appeal.

Whether you are a young professional looking for urban living that is a close commute to work or a young family looking for quiet residential streets and great schools there are Portland condos in the right neighborhood for your lifestyle.

Portland’s southwest area is its downtown and it is here that you will find the many attractions that bring tourists from all over the country to visit Portland. Your condo in Portland’s southwest neighborhood will put you right in the mix of the recreational, cultural, and business hotspots of the city. This area is also the site of several of Portland’s colleges and universities so you see many students, and businesses catering to this younger demographic, here.

Northwest Portland is a mixed neighborhood featuring everything from warehouses to residential neighborhoods. Many of the old warehouses have been converted to Portland condos and lofts in recent years and have become havens for artist and musicians living in the city.

North Portland is home to the Portland International Raceway and the Port of Portland. There are many business opportunities located in this neighborhood, though it has several areas of dense residential streets as well. By contrast is the Northeast section of Portland where you will find almost all residential streets, though they vary wildly in social class. Some of Portland’s oldest and most expensive homes are found here- along with some of its most affordable Portland condos.

Southeast Portland has a large working class population, though its affordability in recent years has created an influx of hippies, students, immigrants, and hipsters. It is probably Portland’s most diverse neighborhood in terms of race, religion, and ethnicity. Southeast Portland condos can put you in this diverse neighborhood.
